Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how Zion Finance handles personal information on zionfinance.org. We try to collect as little as possible.
Who is responsible
The controller of your information is Zion Finance, operated by Naftali Zuckerman in Israel. Contact: naftaliz@zionfinance.org, +972 53-286-4948.
The calculators
Calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us and are not stored on our servers. If you use these features, information is kept only on your device or in a link you choose to share:
- Share link: your inputs are written into the page address (URL). Anyone you send the link to can see those numbers.
- Save on this device: up to 10 recent results are kept in your browser's local storage, with your preferred currency. You can clear them at any time with "Clear saved results" or by clearing your browser data.
- Print or save as PDF: created by your browser on your device.
- Currency converter: loads daily exchange rates from our server, which gets them from open.er-api.com. No personal information is involved.
Information we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, the topic you choose, your message, the time you agreed to this policy, and a one-way coded version (hash) of your IP address used only to block spam and abuse. Giving this information is voluntary, but we need your name, email and message to reply.
- "Email me my results" (when available): your email address and the results you asked us to send. We use your address only to send that one email. We keep a coded (hashed) version of your email and IP address with the time of the request for up to 30 days, only to prevent abuse. We do not add you to any mailing list.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or rent personal information. Please do not send payslips, ID numbers or account details through the website.
Why we use it (purposes and legal basis)
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange sessions you ask for (your consent and taking steps at your request).
- To send results you request by email (your request).
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam (our legitimate interest in running a safe service).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations if you become a client.
Who processes it for us, and where
We use these service providers, who process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms:
- Vercel Inc. (United States): website hosting and server functions. Requests may be served from data centres in several countries.
- Supabase Inc.: database storing contact-form messages, hosted in Singapore (AWS ap-southeast-1).
- Titan: our business email inbox, where your messages are delivered.
- Resend Inc. (United States): sends emails from the website, when that feature is switched on.
- Groq Inc. (United States): AI processing for our chat assistant. The assistant is currently paused; if it returns, messages you type in it will be sent to Groq in the US, and we will update this policy first.
This means your information may be transferred outside Israel, to countries whose laws may give a different level of protection. We choose providers that commit to protecting it.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: as long as needed to reply and follow up, and no longer than 12 months after our last contact, unless the law requires longer (for example, records for paying clients).
- "Email me my results" abuse-prevention records: up to 30 days.
- Hosting logs: according to Vercel's standard retention.
Your rights
Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law you may ask to see the information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. If you are in the EU or UK you also have rights under the GDPR, including to object and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email naftaliz@zionfinance.org. We will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restrict access to stored messages to the site owner, and keep the information we hold to a minimum. No system is perfectly secure; if a security incident affects your information we will act as the law requires.
Children
Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
